This is more than a laptop or iPod left on ‘auto-play’. Managed by your sound engineer, this is a continuous playlist, from over 3,000 of the newest and best-loved classic tracks. What’s best, unlike an iPod or laptop playlist, you avoid awkward silences between songs so the energy can continue.

Make Requests.

Another incentive for your guests to stick around and enjoy the party – just like a stand-alone DJ, you can make requests from our catalogue of over 3,000 tracks.

Either submit us your song choices before the day, or you can make requests on the day.

What is a sound engineer?

A sound engineer may be the biggest secret to an amazing sounding band. You may not know it, but most demos that you will hear from bands have been mixed by a sound engineer.
Have you ever been to an event where you can’t quite hear the vocals, or where you can hear high-pitched feedback? That’s normally because the band haven’t got a professional sound engineer to mix their sound levels.

Do I need a sound engineer?

If you have booked an evening band with more than three members, we always recommend that you book a sound engineer. Without a sound engineer you may risk both the quality of the sound and the safety of you and your guests.

Don’t let Sound Limiters risk your event

In order to control the volume of entertainment, many venues have installed sound limiters. Sound limiters can cut out the power to the band if the volume exceeds a certain level.
When you hire a sound engineer, the band has more control over their volume and significantly decrease the chances of the band’s performance cutting out due to the power being cut by a sound limiter.

Health and safety

Long exposure to high levels of sound may contribute to hearing loss and can be uncomfortable to listen to. A sound engineer has more control over the volume of their performance.

Can’t the band do sound engineering?

Some bands will offer to do the sound engineering themselves. This may be ok for acts with limited amplification, or bands up to a three piece. However sound engineering a bigger band is a lot more complex and a specialist job. It takes years of experience to master – this is usually not what band members are best at.
There’s also a practical consideration. If the band are behind the speakers they will not be able to adapt and adjust the sound through performances and will normally need to stop their performance in order to adjust the sound and listen to the speakers that are facing out to your guests. Depending on the number of guests in your room, the acoustic properties of the room change. That means that there may be no feedback, and the band may sound good when the room is empty, but without a sound engineer to continue to monitor and properly adjust the amplified sound, the audio quality can quickly deteriorate. That’s when feedback and muffled sound creeps in.

For the best experience, and the safest sound levels we recommend you always check that a sound engineer is booked for any evening act larger than a three piece.

Depending on the package that you book, you will be able to have your own say on your act’s song list. That means you can personalise your booking to suit you and your guest’s preferences. Besides, we think your event should be personal.

Our staff come from the record industry, and so we know where to find those performers that are involved with high-level projects like West end shows, support slots for high end acts and session musician work. Unlike other agencies, we work exclusively with our own acts. That means we can offer a lot of work, at a fair price, throughout the year to performers.

How we maintain quality

We believe every event should be exceptional. That’s why we assign each act it’s very own Musical Director (act owner). Their job is to be responsible for the quality of performance and to ensure that you and your guests get a fantastic experience.

Unlike many acts who may rely on last-minute ‘deps’ if a performer is unable to perform at your event, we work with the West End Show model. This means that all our bands are made up of a small pool of handpicked interchangeable performers each who performs regularly with the act. Not only does this protect against last minute cancellations, but it also means we can access better performers who work in the west end and on high-level performances.

Each one auditioned and handpicked for their particular look, musical style and energy and they are all regular performers of our acts.
